Glaucoma Treatment

Overview

Glaucoma, the leading cause of blindness worldwide, leads to irreversible vision loss.

TREATMENT OF GLAUCOMA

Vision loss from glaucoma is not reversible with treatment. The symptoms of glaucoma can also be mild or even non-existent until the disease has silently and gradually worsened to a severe stage.

This is why regular eye exams are important.

The glaucoma specialists at City Eye Hospital provide an extensive glaucoma eye care that comprises glaucoma evaluation and testing, and management of intraocular pressure and treatment.

Our extensive glaucoma exam includes:

● measuring the pressure in your eye (tonometry)
● testing your peripheral (side) vision (visual field test)
● measuring the thickness of your cornea (pachymetry)
● inspecting your eye’s drainage angle (gonioscopy)
● examining your optic nerve (ophthalmoscopy)
● checking the thickness of your optic nerve fibres
